Need to take my mind off food

Yesterday I was in the office and maintained my eating plan. Today WFH (working from home – just in case you are not in the know!) and did even better. Yesterday morning I had a sneaky weigh in and after only 2 days, 1/2lb lost. It’s amazing what not eating chocolate and drinking wine can do. But seeing a loss, however small, keeps you going.

But, anyway all of this talk of food makes me want to grab a Wispa and scoff in 3 mouthfuls. I think I have mentioned before this is THE best chocolate bar you can buy. There is something simply addictive about the texture of the fine bubbles. See what I mean, I need distraction from the brown calorific stuff.

So let’s talk about the other obsession of mine – aging. Hands and elbows, no make-up or drastic plastic surgery can help, so I do spend a fair amount on hand-creams. I have Molton Brown, by my desk in the office (relegated here from home as it leaves your hands a bit greasy). There is a Tesco own brand ‘Finest’ in my downstairs toilet, OK for occasional use and not too expensive if any of the children have more than one squirt each. I have opted for a rather cheap set purchased in Debenhams, Baylis and Harding for by my kitchen sink (co-ordinating with hand-wash) and this has a very nice smell. As we move upstairs, in my bathroom I have very lovely Liz Earle, pumped Hand Repair. This smells rather divine to me, but my husband hates the rather strong lavender smell. Hence, it is stuck in my en suite. By my bed, for best overnight moisture is Arbonne FC5 Ultra Hydrating Hand-Cream. This I like and I am on my second tube.

But I now have a new favourite – or two new favourites from the No. 7 and infamous Protect and Perfect range. Purchased on Monday with a promise of younger looking hands in 4 weeks! I have a Day Hand-Cream with SPF 15 and an Overnight Treatment Cream. Both are wonderful. Glide on a leave NO stickiness or greasiness. The Day cream will now be kept in my VIP (very important pocket) to make sure it goes into whatever handbag I am coordinating with!

I am now distracted and have lovely smooth hands. Time for a camomile tea before bed!
